PURPOSE

Construction of the DOUGLAS-MIDDELBURG COAL PLANT, a black thermal coal processing plant, was underway in 2008. The plant is implemented using two modular plants with heavy liquid treatment technology (Direct Melting System, DMS). The lines are equipped with cyclones sized 1,150 mm in diameter and 4.2 m wide vibrating screens. The new plant will provide coal export capabilities until at least 2034.
